I have an HP Windws 7 64 bit laptop, that was totally destroyed by my other half's surfing habits, and tendencies to turn off McAfee.
I tried to WHS Recovery CD, but that didn't work (network controller issues despite using the drivers on a USB Key, as well as downloading updated drivers from Realtek (3 times)), so I used the HP restore disk to return the laptop to factory install and settings.
Now, I am trying to use the Client Restore Wizard, and after signing into WHS with the Password, and selecting the Backup I want, I choose "Let the wizard fully restore the computer". Before a restore even starts, as soon as I hit Next, I get the error mentioned in the title.
I have disconnected the internet, restarted the server, extended IP leases on my router, everything.
Again, this laptop can a) access the WHS Home Server Console directly, the internet (when connected), and the network printer, so this is not an issue with the hardware on the PC nor, I believe the drivers for the NIC.
Any help would be appreciated, I have spent so much time on this, and I am getting very frustrated!
